And I'm back . . .

So I know it's been a long absence and I am very bad at this but I'm finally back. I'm sitting at very back of the Passfield bar at the very first meeting of the new committee, a committee that I am not involved in. YAY!

It's been a couple of months of significant change and while I've loved it, I've also hated having to say goodbye to people and begin many things again. Passfield, and indeed my rather more random connections with the LSE, are what keeps life ticking away at a normal pace and that makes it a little easier.

My work at the Accommodation Office was great and I *loved* getting to know everyone and spending many fruitless hours explaining to students that there were limited number of rooms and we were unable to kick any other student out of a room in order to find housing for them. I am much better at arguing politely with people now :o)

I started at the Church of England (well actually the Church Commissioners) three weeks ago and it's been a fun few weeks. This Friday I'm off to Bristol for the second time in a couple of weeks, next Monday will be the third when I spend a day at a consultant seminar in a circus training school that has been put into what was a "redundant church". Redundant churches are unused churches with no congregation. One of the things our department works on is what happens to these churches and what uses they are put to. Quite a few are demolished but many more are put to uses you never would have thought of . . . like the circus training school in Bristol. I do all sorts of things: administer the website; organise and run seminars; write funny little papers on the Orthodox Church (and other such topics); learn how to use a fire extinguisher for those days when the kitchen catches fire; drink lots of cups of tea; attend committee meetings (similar to the Parliamentary Select Committees but known as the Pastoral Committee and Redundant Churches Committee) and many other things that I really can't think of right now . . .

My new flat is great, I have a wonderful little cosy room and two fabulous flatmates. We've been sorting everything out and making sure we have everything we need and today we spent the afternoon in Camden Market getting posters for the hallway. I'll post photos soon, once we've finished decorating!! My room is beautifully cute and soon it will have a fold-out chair so my sister can have a place to sleep when she comes in . . . 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!

I am *soooooooo* excited that she's coming and I can't wait to see her! We've got fabulous plans for her time here and I'm really looking forward to seeing her . . . I shall blog about our exploits . . .

Right well I don't want this to be a long post so I shall leave it here but more blogging soon, promise!
